Meat Manager
Job Type:  Full-time
Salary:  $20.00+ depending on experience

Job Summary:

Direct and manage all functions and activities of Meat Department to achieve sales and profit goals.

Essential Job Functions:
  1. Prepares a weekly schedule based on projected sales, volume and work load.
  2. Along with Store Manager, work out localized merchandising plans for the department.
  3. Follow approved Meat Department plans for effective space management based on movement, consumer demands and profitability.
  4. Oder merchandise and control inventory to minimize out-of-stock and overstocks, and to maximize sales.
  5. Follow approved procedures for receiving products, price marking and restocking cases to ensure quality protection, accuracy and product rotation.
  6. Control department expenses.
  7. Take action to control shrinkage and pilferage losses.
  8. Effectively hires, supervises, trains, schedules, and conducts annual performance reviews on all Meat Department personnel.
  9. Follow planned program of maintenance on cases, coolers, refrigeration and meat department equipment.
  10. ensure favorable department image with customers through a clean, attractive friendly department.
  11. Maintain and submit required records, reports, and monthly inventory.
  12. Observes local conditions and competitive activity relating to the Meat Department and keep others informed.
  13. Maintain good communications in store and throughout the organization.
  14. Observe State Health Regulations.
  15. ensure compliance to company’s Sanitation, Safety and Security Programs.
  16. ensure compliance to local, state and governmental weights and measures, and labeling laws.
  17. Greet all customers and be observant.
  18. Must ensure that all employees follow proper “lock out/tag out” procedure while repairing or cleaning mechanical or electrical equipment
  19. Maintain a neat personal appearance according to the company’s dress code policy.
  20. Receive, weigh and breakdown meats and related products.
  21. Cut and trim all merchandise as directed by company standards.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
  1. High School education minimum required.
  2. Ability to read and write to properly tag merchandise, ordering and maintaining inventory and to ensure proper rotation of products.
  3. Above average analytical skills necessary to study and interpret various reports to keep the department profitable.
  4. Should have at least three years’ experience working in supermarket industry, with at least one year as a meat cutter.
  5. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills for dealing with customers, employees and vendors.

Working Conditions:
  1. Must be able to work long and irregular hours.
  2. Regularly exposed to hazardous conditions associated with the operation of mechanical equipment, and hazardous chemicals.  Hazards are limited when established safety procedures are followed.
  3. Exposure to extreme cold, while handling frozen and refrigerated meat at a minimum of fifty-five percent (55%) over an eight (8) hour schedule, and can go up to a maximum of minus fifteen degrees (-15 o’s) five percent (5%) of the time.

Bakery Manager
Full-time
$15.00+ depending on experience

Job Summary:

Direct and manage all functions and activities of Bakery Department to achieve sales and profit goals.
 
Essential Job Functions:
  1. Along with Store Manager work out localized merchandising plans for departments.
  2. Control quality of product.
  3. Follow approved Bakery Department plans for effective space management based on movement, consumer demand and profitability.
  4. Order merchandise and control inventory to minimize out-of-stocks and overstocks and to maximize sales.
  5. Follow approved procedures for receiving product, price marking and restocking cases, to insure quality protection, accuracy and product rotation.
  6. Control department expenses.
  7. Take action to control shrinkage and pilferage losses.
  8. Effectively supervise other Baker Department personnel.
  9. Insure favorable department image with customers through a clean, attractive and friendly department.

  18. Maintain sales to less than 5% of retail sales.
  19. Maintain gross profit per the company goal.
  20. Enforce all company open date policies.
  21. Maintain table promotions program.
  22. Train, schedule and supervise bakers.
  23. Have and maintain all varieties of product that are standard in the Bakery Department.
  24. Select items for the weekly ad.
  25. Maintain a neat personal appearance according to the company’s dress code policy.

Supplemental Job Functions:
  1. Observe local conditions and competitive activity relating to the Bakery Department and keep others informed.
  2. Maintain full shelves in your bakery.
  3. Assist in baking.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
  1. High school education minimum required.
  2. At least two years’ experience in the supermarket industry working as baker.
  3. Must have strong oral and written communication skills for dealing with customers, employees and vendors.
  4. Ability to unload, transport and place merchandise to the specified areas.
  5. Must be able to lift seventy pounds (70#’s) flour, up to twenty percent (20%) of the time.

Working Conditions:
  1. Exposure to hazardous conditions associated with operation of mechanical, electrical and gas (where applicable) equipment; hazardous chemicals and extreme heat due to oven temperatures.  Hazards are limited when established safety procedures are followed.
  2. Exposed to extreme heat up to fifty percent (50%) of the time and extreme cold from freezer (up to minus fifteen degrees (-15 o’s) below zero, up to a maximum of twenty five percent (25%) of the time.

Cashier/Customer Service

$10.10 per hour
Full-time or Part-time

Job Summary:

The opening would be temporarily working at the customer service desk then would move to the cashiering position. At the customer service desk you would be dealing with customer issues such as returns, checking them out, selling lottery tickets and tobacco, directing phone calls and overseeing the cashiers.

Cashier Job Description:
  1. Scans or rings grocery orders accurately and efficiently. (Identify departments for items that don’t scan).
  2. Memorize and utilize PLU codes accurately.
  3. Record prices and departments, subtotals taxable items, and total purchases accurately on cash register.
  4. Assure the security of cash drawer at all times.
  5. Follow all voided sale procedures, informing customers what you are doing.
  6. Enforce security policies including, company shoplifting policy, associate purchase policy and bottom of the basket procedures.
  7. Collects money from customer and makes correct change.
  8. Keeps current on advertised specials and sale item prices.
  9. Weighs items, bags merchandise, redeems food stamps, process WIC purchases and promotional coupons.
  10. Cashes checks including local payroll checks according to store policy and procedure.
  11. Counts cash drawer prior to and following shift change.
  12. Waits on customers in a cheerful and friendly manner at all times.

Deli Clerk/Customer Service
$10.10 per hour
Full-time / Part-time

Job Summary:

To wait on customers in the Deli, in a courteous manner and prepare orders to customers satisfaction.

Essential Job Functions:
  1. Slices, cuts, weighs and prices merchandise in a courteous manner and prepares orders to customer satisfaction.
  2. Unload deli merchandise and transport stock to storage area.
  3. Maintain shelves and cases filled at all times.
  4. Control freshness by coding and rotating all products and remove out-of-control merchandise daily.
  5. Price all products legibly and according to price book.
  6. Maintain new items or weekly specials.

This is a full-time position, with either days (6am-2pm) or nights (12pm-8:30pm), 5 days a week.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
  1. Must have strong communications skills for dealing with customers.
  2. Must have math skills for weighing and pricing of products.
  3. Must have dexterity in hands to enable slicing and preparing of deli products.
  4. Must be able to lift up to fifty pounds (50#’s) up to twenty percent (20%) of the time.
